Raw Banana Cutlet / Tikki

 

          Check out these yummy shallow fried cutlets made of raw banana and few basic ingredients easily available in your kitchen. They come out just amazing. It is so easy and simple to make. They are perfect for an evening tea-time snack. You can also serve them as appetizers along with tomato sauce or green chutney. 

         Do try and include them in the menu of any in-house party. It can be prepared well in advance and refrigerated to be fried at the time of serving. So check out the step by step pictorial recipe to prepare this yummy party snack.





           These cutlets can also be served as vegetable burgers along with onion, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and cheese slice. 

          Besides, they can be made into a roll / frankie or packed as a lunch box meal. They also tastes great with hummus and can be wrapped in parathas / chapatis.





  • 1 raw banana, boiled, peeled & mashed
  • 1 tbsp. rice flour
  • 1 tsp. ginger, grated
  • 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp. coriander leaves, chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp. amchur powder or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • 2-3 tbsp. oil to shallow fry







          In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients (except oil) and knead into a dough. Make equal size portions of it and give it a round flat shape.

          Heat oil in a tawa / pan and shallow fry them, few at a time, till golden in color. Drain on a tissue paper and serve them hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
