Mixed Vegetable idli


          Healthy bhi Tasty bhi. This yummy South Indian breakfast of Mixed Veg. Idli is a great way to start your day. It is not only healthy but wholesome too. You can use any veggies of your choice. Relish with some homemade coconut chutney and sambar. They can also be served as an after school snack or as a lunch box meal for young and old alike.






  • 2-3 cups idli batter
  • 1 cup chopped mixed veggies (I used frozen ones)
  • 2 tbsp. grated beetroot
  • oil to grease the idli mould
  • coconut chutney & sambar to serve









          Mix the batter and the veggies well. Spoon into the greased idli moulds. Bring some water to boil in the pressure cooker/ steamer and place the idli stand.

            Steam for 15-18 minutes. (Do not put the weight). After 5 minutes, open the cooker and let it cool further before demoulding. 

          Transfer to a serving plate and relish with coconut chutney and sambar.
