Chicken Steak with Mixed Salad

Lean meat like chicken is any time healthy than red meat. So this is a simple and an easy steak fry which is relished with a plateful of salad for a light meal. It can always be marinated earlier and refrigerated to save time. Wholesome and filling, it is a one dish meal in itself for any weight watchers.

  • 2 chicken fillet
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp. red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. oil to marinate
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  • oil to shallow fry
  • assorted salad (coloured bell peppers, lettuce leaves, onion slices, bean sprouts and cucumber slices)

Marinate the chicken fillet with salt, chili powder, 1 tsp. oil and lemon juice for an hour. Dip the fillet in the beaten egg and fold them in the bread crumbs.

Heat 2 tbsp. oil in a non-stick pan and shallow fry one at a time on both sides on low flame till golden brown in colour. Drain on a tissue paper and serve them hot with salad.
