Bhapa Mishti Doi (Steamed Sweet Yoghurt)


    
         
           This is a most irresistible Bengali dessert. Very easy and quick to make. Just combine all the ingredients and steam. A perfect boon when you have unexpected guests. A few variations can be made here. You can use sweet mango pulp, orange, strawberry or lichi to make it more flavourful. 





  • 3/4 can of condensed milk
  • 450 gms. plain yoghurt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp. cardamom powder, leaving some to garnish
  • few strands of saffron to garnish (opt)


          Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them well thoroughly. Take care to see that there are no lumps. Pour this mix in a steel container with a lid.

          Place it in a pressure cooker filled with little water. Steam without the vent for 10 minutes. Let it cool for 10-15 minutes before opening the lid. Chill before serving. Garnish with cardamom powder and saffron (opt).
